What To Bring To Campus

Wondering what you can and can't bring to campus while living in the residence halls? Here's a quick breakdown of items to put on your checklist and a reminder of other items you'll need to leave at home. Everything has been evaluated to make sure you have a comfortable and safe environment while living on campus.

What To Pack:

  • Surge protector that has an ON/OFF switch
  • Alarm clock
  • Microwave, 700 watt/.7 cubic feet or less
  • Refrigerator, 4.0 cubic feet or less
  • TV, that is HD capable
  • Stereo, DVD, Video games
  • Coffeemaker (K-cup style)
  • Computer and associated equipment
  • 3M Command strips for hanging posters and pictures
  • Laundry detergent, basket, hangers
  • Linens for extra long twin bed, towels
  • Carpet or rugs with a non-slip rug pad
  • Lamp, no halogens
  • Personal hygiene items
  • Flashlight, other tools
  • Cleaning supplies

What NOT To Bring

  • Candles, incense
  • Halogen lamps
  • Space heaters
  • Wireless router
  • Any type of extension cord that is not a surge protector with an on/off switch
  • Anything with an open heating element (air fryers, toasters, toaster ovens, hot plates, grills, etc.)
  • Pets, including those that visit with family, except fish in a 10 gallon or less aquarium
  • Anything that may damage or mar surfaces, tacks, nails, pins, screws, tape of any kind, putty adhesives
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Alcohol, including full or empty decorative bottles, caps or shot glasses
  • Drugs and or drug paraphernalia
  • Fireworks
