Texas Languages Collaboration
Five small independent colleges in Texas (Concordia University of Texas, Lubbock Christian University, Schreiner University, ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼, and Texas Wesleyan University) have partnered to increase the breadth and depth of language offerings available to their students. This partnership allows each institution to develop strength in one language and share their instructional resources with their partners for a combined extensive range of language offerings.
In the 2012-2013 academic year, these colleges began working together to offer three to five language courses with a different institution offering each course. High definition videoconferencing allows for live, virtually face-to-face interaction for students and teachers. Since live interaction will be limited, instructors will supplement instruction with other online curricular resources to provide more contact hours in the target language. The institutions will also partner with the National Institute for Technology in Liberal Education (NITLE) to explore a number of important research and implementation questions across several dimensions, including academic, logistical, technological, financial and curricular.
Languages offered: French, German, Mandarin, Spanish
