Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

The ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼ Tax Clinic will open to the public on Wednesday, January 31, 2024. The hours of operation will be Wednesdays from 5:00-7:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 - Noon. We will be closed during spring break from March 9, 2024, through March 17, 2024, and we will close for the season on April 13, 2024.

We are located at ¼«ËÙÁùºÏ²ÊÀúÊ·¿ª½±¼Ç¼, 1000 West Court Street in Seguin. Please drive in the Main Entrance off Court Street. Cars will line up along the main entrance street and a volunteer will be there to greet you. Taxpayers will remain in their cars, and student volunteers come to the parking lot to meet the taxpayers, gather their tax information, and provide the tax return to them.

Taxpayers should bring all tax forms, a photo ID, and their Social Security card.

The IRS's VITA program has operated for more than 50 years and offers free basic tax return preparation to qualified individuals including:

  • People who generally make $57,000 or less
  • Persons with disabilities
  • Limited English-speaking taxpayers

While the IRS manages the VITA program, VITA sites are managed by IRS partners and staffed by volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with nonprofit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.

VITA services are not only free, but they are also a reliable and trusted source for preparing tax returns. All VITA volunteers who prepare returns must take and pass tax law training that meets or exceeds IRS standards.
